What Is a Smart Tracking Label?
A smart tracking label is a thin, battery-powered or battery-free connected device designed to be attached to a package, pallet, product or load carrier. Depending on the product, it can report location, movement or environmental conditions to a cloud platform during a shipment or operational cycle.
The name describes a form factor, not one universal technology. Some labels use cellular connectivity and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or Wi-Fi-assisted positioning. Others broadcast Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signals that are detected by gateways or participating phones. Printable labels, temperature sensors, subscriptions, coverage and battery duration are product-specific capabilities, not features of every smart label.
"GPS tracking sticker", "5G smart label" and "connected shipping label" are common buying terms, but the underlying technology determines where, how often and how accurately a label can report.
Remove operational friction
Shipment Visibility Without Recovering a Conventional Tracker
Reusable trackers can provide rich data, but they also create a recovery, charging, cleaning and reprovisioning process. A thin single-use or limited-life label can be a better operational fit when shipments travel one way, move through third parties or are deployed at high volume.

A "5G-ready" label may use LTE-M or NB-IoT within the wider 5G ecosystem rather than a high-bandwidth 5G connection. Buyers should verify the exact modem, bands, roaming footprint and sunset risk for every intended country.
