What Is Disposable GPS Freight Tracking?
Disposable GPS freight tracking uses a battery-powered device intended for one shipment or a limited operating period. Attached to a pallet, crate or consignment, it reports location or journey events to a cloud platform without requiring the shipper to recover, recharge and redeploy the tracker after delivery.
"GPS freight tracker" is a broad buying term. A device may combine Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning with cellular transmission, Wi-Fi-assisted positioning or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) networks. Performance depends on placement, packaging, transport mode, network availability, reporting configuration and battery duration.
A tracker can support independent freight visibility, but it does not guarantee continuous GPS coverage, prevent theft or replace carrier, forwarder and transport-management data.

Set realistic expectations
Will a GPS Tracker Work Throughout a Freight Journey?
No tracker can guarantee a position and transmission from every point in every journey. Buyers should distinguish between obtaining a location, transmitting it and storing data until a connection becomes available.
Warehouses and terminals
Roofs, racking, vehicles and dense cargo can restrict satellite visibility, although Wi-Fi or network positioning may provide an alternative.
Metal containers
