What is the difference between carrier tracking and an independent tracking device?
Carrier tracking usually reports scans and operational events from the carrier's network. An independent device can generate its own location or sensor observations between some of those events. The two data sources are complementary and have different coverage, accuracy and operational limitations.
Can a GPS tracker prevent parcel theft?
No. Tracking may support earlier detection, investigation or recovery activity when combined with an effective response process. It should be one layer alongside secure packaging, carrier controls, access management, insurance and approved security procedures.
Can trackers work inside warehouses, vans and metal containers?
Performance varies. GNSS/GPS is often weaker indoors and may be blocked by metal. Devices may use cellular, Wi-Fi or BLE-derived observations, or store readings until connectivity returns. Representative testing is essential.
Are disposable trackers suitable for ecommerce parcels?
